2015 Heath Fair

I’ve always loved the Heath Fair. Nearly 100 years old, this agricultural fair is the real deal. Way up in the hills of Western, MA, where mobile phones don’t work and internet access is basically nonexistent, visiting the Heath Fair is a little like going back in time. Each time I’ve been, usually with kids in tow, I’ve left wishing that I could have stayed to photograph this charming and quirky event. Well, this year I decided to give it my all. I stayed in Heath, just a couple of miles down the road and spent three full days at the fair. Farm animals pulling heavy things, tractors (also pulling heavy things), great music, square dancing, fireworks, incredibly nice people and lots and lots of maple cream fried dough. What a blast.
